Simple Steps to Save

(February 15, 2023) - A few years ago, I bought my forever home. It’s not grand or elaborate by any means, but it is mine and exactly what I need for my retirement and beyond years. Purchasing this home was an exercise in simplicity and predictability because I had to consider what my needs would be when I’m 20+ years down the road and not what my life looks like at this specific time. With retirement savings in place and an adequate nest egg for emergencies and fun money, I knew I still had more savings goals to meet.

Building a Village

(December 12, 2022) - Most of us are familiar with the term, “it takes a village to raise a child”. During the holiday season, I have been reflecting on how thankful I am for our “village.” Friends, family members, teachers, and neighbors helped us influence and raise our young adult children to be hard-working, smart, kind, and witty humans with good financial sense. As my husband and I watch our young adults navigate their lives and make wise decisions along the way, we couldn’t be prouder.

A Gift That Lasts A Lifetime

(September 27, 2021) Traditionally the holiday season is the period from Thanksgiving through the New Year. But unofficially, I believe it starts in October. That’s when the air is cool, sweaters are back on, and pumpkin spice, apple cider and mocha lattes are at the top of my must have beverage list. But no matter when it officially starts, it’s my favorite season of the year.
